INDIANAPOLIS, October 9, 2021 – Kayla DiCello of Boyds, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics and Leanne Wong of Overland Park, Kan./Great American Gymnastics Express – both alternates for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games – will lead a group of up-and-coming U.S. gymnasts at the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships later this month in Kitakyushu, Japan. INDIANAPOLIS, October 5, 2021 – The final U.S. team members for the 2021 Artistic and Rhythmic World Championships will be decided this week in Indianapolis, when six athletes train and compete for a spot on the women’s artistic team at the selection camp October 7-10. There’s nothing like being in an arena when Simone Biles's name is announced. Saving her Double Pike Yurchenko for the Olympics, Biles pulled out her Cheng and Amanar for the night. The vault began with the Cheng with a ridiculously far landing and ended with a stratospheric Amanar, scoring 15.66. Rolling into the 2021 Olympic Trials, the only thing we know for sure is that Simone Biles, barring an alien invasion, is going to come in first place and lead the team. Besides that, anything could happen! What we do know is that the top two all-arounders at trials are automatically placed on the team, so everyone will be fighting for that second spot. FORT WORTH, Texas, June 6, 2021 – Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre claimed another spot in the record books Sunday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, notching a seventh U.S. senior women’s all-around title – the most in history. Biles (119.650) ran away from the competition on Day 2, stretching a 2.2-point lead to nearly five full points. Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center finished second with a 114.950, and Biles’ World Champions Centre teammate Jordan Chiles (114.450) rounded out the top three. Biles also claimed the top spots on vault (31.025), balance beam (29.250) and floor exercise (29.600). INDIANAPOLIS, May 22, 2021 – Reigning World champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre returned to competition for the first time in more than a year in a half Saturday night at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The four-time Olympic gold medalist edged teammate Jordan Chiles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre in successful defense of her 2019 GK U.S. Classic all-around title. Along the way, Biles debuted the long-anticipated Yurchenko double pike vault, becoming the first woman to land the high-difficulty skill in competition.
