Recruiting Breakdown: Jennifer Oh, Geneva Thompson Highlight Huskies' Class
Washington had an impressive season in 2017. Get to know the newest members of the Huskies' class in 2018.
The 2018 NCAA gymnastics season is still months away, but it's never too early to get to know the incoming freshman class for each team. Here's a breakdown of the new additions Washington has made for next year.
Washington put together a remarkable season in head coach Elise Ray's first season in charge. The Huskies tied UCLA for third with a 197.100 in the night session at the Pac-12 championships. Washington advanced to the NCAA championships for the first time since 1997 and missed advancing to the Super Six by less than 0.5 of a point.
Outgoing: Kaitlyn Duranczyk, Janae Janik, Alex Yacalis
The Huskies lose two routines from each of their seniors--uneven bars and floor exercise from Duranczyk, uneven bars and balance beam from Janik, and vault and floor exercise from Yacalis. Duranczyk and Yacalis were both mainstays in Washington's lineup this past season. Janik competed on bars three times and beam seven times in 2017.
