I Didn't Qualify To Nationals: How Do I Keep My Recruiting Moving Forward?
Many Level 9 and 10 gymnasts struggle when they do not qualify to Western, Eastern, or JO Championships. Not qualifying to nationals does not mean you will not be recruited to college. Keep in mind that college coaches know that a variety of obstacles can contribute to an athlete who finishes her season early.

Below are a few items you can be doing to keep your recruiting moving forward:

1.  Take time to evaluate your season athletically, mentally, and nutritionally. Make no excuses!

2.  Set up a meeting with your club coach to discuss all areas of your gymnastics.

3.  Email your colleges of interest and let them know what you learned from regionals.

4.  Set new goals for next season.

5.  Focus on your academics and finishing strong in school.

6.  Use this time to prepare for SAT or ACT tests.

7.  Send college coaches video footage of you training new upgrades.

8.  Take some time to rest your body and your mind. Then head back to the gym fired up!

"No one feels strong when she examines her own weakness. But in facing weakness, you learn how much there is in you, and you find real strength." -Pat Summitt, legendary college basketball coach
