Laurie Hernandez and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed a stunning Cha Cha routine on the premiere of season 23 of "Dancing with the Stars." They danced to Bonnie McKee's "American Girl."

Laurie's skills on the competition floor have always been outstanding, and now she is getting the opportunity to show off her vibrant personality on a different stage. She called this experience a "victory lap" after the Olympic Games.

The duo tied for the highest score of the night, earning 31 points out of 40.
