Mary Wise of Iowa Gym-Nest takes us through a drill that teaches an early hand change on half pirouettes. It is customary for gymnasts to turn their first hand when they've reached the handstand, however this often leads to a late finish and deductions on the skill. With this drill, gymnasts learn the proper pirouette timing in order for them to finish in a handstand.
