Maddie Steinauer grew up as a gymnast in Nebraska. As a club gymnast, she was not recruited by the University of Nebraska and decided to go out to California to compete for the Cal State Fullerton Titans under Coach Jill Hicks. In her time at Fullerton, Maddie's gymnastics improved immensely with the Fullerton coaching staff and after 2 years with the program, Maddie grew homesick and transferred to the University of Nebraska where she now competes 3 events for the strong Husker team.
For the past 2 years, Cal State Fullerton gymnastics has been experiencing financial struggles and if they don't earn $100,000 in pledges by April 1st their program will be dropped.
