Chellsie Memmel's Three Favorite Cast Handstand Drills

Sep 9, 2017

Chellsie Memmel explains three cast handstand drills for bars that are perfect for gymnasts of all levels. These drills are used to strengthen the muscles needed for casting, as well as to get gymnasts comfortable leaning over the bar and in the correct shape. Lower level gymnasts can go through these drills with a spot while optional gymnasts will likely be able to practice them all on their own.

Memmel knows a thing or two about bars! She won gold on bars at the 2003 World Championships, and went on to win AA gold in 2005 and made the 2008 Olympic team. She is now a judge and coach at M&M Gymnastics.

We've got tons more technique with Memmel, stay tuned!
