Thema Williams is an international elite gymnast from Trinidad and Tobago who came to the USA in 2013 to train at Twistars with distinguished coach John Geddert. There are loads of reasons for why gymnastics is such a fun sport to watch. Tough and seemingly impossible skills, high-flying tumbling and, let’s be honest, pretty leotards, are just a few. But aside from these reasons, nothing makes gymnastics more enjoyable to watch than when a gymnast performs with gorgeous artistry. 26-year-old Iowa alum Houry Gebeshian competed at the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland as an individual competitor for Armenia. After taking an early fall on beam, she came back and showed three very solid sets to score a 51.965. That landed her in 68th place out of the individual competitors, which was enough to qualify for the Rio test event, which was her main goal for Worlds. Success.
