Springfield College Gymnastics Exhibition Show Rehearsal

Springfield College Gymnastics Exhibition Show Rehearsal

Event Info
The 101st edition of the Springfield College Gymnastics Exhibition Show was held October 15th and 16th, here are videos from their final dress rehearsals for the event. Often labeled the "Home" show because it occurs on homecoming weekend, the coaches urged me to use the term exhibition show. You can hear more about the history and format from the event by checking out the interviews. The event is co-directed by Steve LeFever and head gymnastics coaches Cheryl Raymond and Steve Posner. Participants include both competitive gymnastics teams as well as volunteers from various areas. There are interviews up with Steve LeFever, and both coaches as well as with Assistant Coach Matt Tocchio, and gymnasts Megan German, Danielle Trota, Ty Evans, Marissa Rusin, Brittany Baglow, Lizzie Sartell, Christina Pagella, Josh Fox, and a member of SC's diving team Brian Sobel. Thanks to all of them for their time and insights. The thursday before the performance the participants did a dress rehearsal followed by dinner where meatballs were rationed, and another dress rehearsal. One of the differences between the performance and the final version was the Tableaux which is done with the gymnasts painted in their final statue forms, but a lot of it was in full dress doing prep for the the next two days of events. The theme of this year's show was Gymnastics 101, which was a play on the 101st edition of the show, as well as allowed the evolution of gymnastics to be explored including variations. The show also tied in gymnastics to related areas of entertainment and beyond. You can read more at Springfield College's official website
