Catalina Ponor has officially retired from gymnastics following the 2017 Mexico Open, held this weekend at the Juan de la Barrera Olympic Gymnasium in Mexico City.

None of the competitors competed on all four events. Ponor competed three events — vault, beam, and floor — and took the silver medal with a 40.30 behind Cuba's Yesenia Ferrera Nuñez, who won gold with a 40.4. Russia's Angelina Melnikova came in third with a 40.05.

Following the competition, Ponor paid tribute to her career and her fans in the annual Gala of Gymnastics Stars, showing off her style and passion for the sport with performances on beam and floor.

Ponor gave a final speech to close out the competition and honor her coach, who has been by her side for 15 years, her parents, fans, and everyone who has helped her along the way.

We wish Catalina all the best in the future after an incredible gymnastics career!
