Stanford Wins NCAA Qualifier 2, Buckeyes and Illini Advance
nullSession 2 of the NCAA Qualifying round was as exciting as the first session. This standings for this session were pretty much based on who had completed vault. Ohio State and Stanford traded places on top the leader board. Stanford won 4 of the 6 events despite having to count 6 falls during the competition with the 5 up 5 count format. Cardinal captain Brian Knott  had led the way with 15 plus scores on his three events Pommel Horse, P-Bars and High Bar. Stanford scored a 434.35 which is about 7 points lower then Oklahoma scored in session 1.
The host school and Big Ten Champion Ohio State, finished 2nd behind Stanford by .95. Their 433.40 ranks them second in the 6 team field for the NCAA Championship finals. The team began on Pommel Horse and had to count a fall from Sean Melton but freshman Alec Yoder picked it up and lead the way with a 15.4 tying for the top pommel horse for both sessions. The Buckeyes lead going into the final event floor but some landing problems dropped them into 2nd place.null

The 3rd place spot went to the University of Illinois with a 432.05 and third best score of the final 6 teams. Illinois began the night with a solid effort on p-bars and finished with the top vault score of 74.9 second only to Oklahoma in the competition with three 15 plus scores. The Illini highest score came from pommel horse specialist Brandon Ngai with a 15.25 good enough for 3rd place in the competition.
