Italy's Carlotta Ferlito had a frightening fall off of beam today at the 2016 City of Jesolo Trophy, but an update from the Italian Gymnastics Federation confirms that diagnostic tests were negative and she was discharged from the hospital.

During event finals for beam, Ferlito was performing her round-off double pike dismount when her foot slipped off the beam and she landed on the back of her head. She was immediately attended to on the beam mats where she lay for a few minutes before being carried off to the side of the arena. She later left the gym on a stretcher.

Carlotta Ferlito è stata dimessa dall'Ospedale di Portogruaro dove era stata portata in ambulanza dal Pala Arrex di Jesolo dopo la caduta in uscita alla trave. Gli esami diagnostici hanno dato esito negativo e la ginnasta ha lasciato la struttura ospedaliera in compagnia della famiglia. Soltanto un grande spavento dunque per Carlotta, che speriamo di rivedere presto in pedana più forte ed in forma di prima.
