No. 1 Oklahoma continues to strive
Going into the last meet at the Lloyd Noble Center, the Sooners proved why they are ranked number one in the country. Scoring a 197.775, the Sooners beat the Arizona Wildcats who scored a 195.775.
The Sooners started off their meet of the vault where they had multiple stuck vaults. Senior Keeley Kmieciak led the Sooners on vault with a 9.9 with her stuck yurchenko full. On bars the Sooners set a new program record with a 49.675. There were four scores of a 9.925 or higher. Freshman Nicole Lehrmann and junior Chayse Capps both scored a 9.925 and junior McKenzie Wofford and senior Kmieciak both scored a 9.975. Beam for the Sooners was a bit rough. They had to count a score of 9.75, which is not a score that the Sooners would like to count. Despise some wobbles Kmieciak scored a 9.9 with a huge round off double back dismount that was stuck. Capps lead the Sooners on beam with a huge 9.95. On floor the Sooners showed huge tumbling and great landings. Freshman Ali Jackson and Capps both scored a 9.9, respectively. Senior Haley Scaman closed out her Senior night with a 9.95.

Arizona began their meet on bars where they had great routines until their anchor missed her hand on her bail and fell. The Wildcats where lead by junior Krysten Howard who scored a 9.85. Vault was tough for the Wildcats. They showed huge, dynamic vaults but could not find the landings. The top two scores of 9.8 came from freshman Lauryn Mattson and senior Shelby Edwards. On floor, Howard lead the team again with a 9.85. The Wildcats struggled with their landings on floor, like they did on vault. They had great tumbling but had issues once it came time for them to land. On beam, the Wildcats had multiple wobbles but fought hard to stay on. Again, Howard lead the Wildcats on beam with a 9.875.

It was Senior Night at the Lloyd Noble Center. Both teams had their seniors recognized after the meet. Head Coach for the Sooners, K.J. Kindler, spoke about all five seniors on the Oklahoma Women's Gymnastics team.
