Team Ukraine Takes 2015 Swiss Cup Title


The 2015 Swiss Cup was held November 8 in Zurich, Switzerland. The Swiss Cup is a 'pairs' competition where countries send a team of one female and one male gymnast to compete against other countries' pairs. Many of the athletes who competed are coming off a long World Championships experience in Glasgow, Scotland.

The competition was comprised of several different rounds, and after the first three rounds, the top four teams qualified into the final round to determine the winner. Team Ukraine, including Angelina Kysla and Oleg Verniaiev took the title with a combined score of 29.925. Romania’s Larisa Iordache and Marius Berbecar came in second with an 29.250. Germany’s Team 2 of Pauline Schaefer and Andreas Bretschneider secured third with a 28.250.
