Australia has named their 2015 World Championships team after two days of trials at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, which concluded Saturday October 3rd, according to Gymnastics Australia.
The members of the Worlds team include:
Georgia Godwin
Georgia Rose-Brown
Madelaine Leydin
Larrissa Miller
Mary-Anne Monckton
Kiara Munteanu
Emily Little
Emma Nedov - Reserve
Godwin is the reigning all-around Australian Champion, and Miller and Little were members of Australia’s 2012 Olympic team. Monckton was an alternate to London, and “her burning desire to go one step further will drive her motivation for a strong team performance at these Championships.” Australia finished 7th overall at last year’s World Championships in China. The team will be looking to finish in the top eight in the qualification rounds in Glasgow in order to secure a ticket to Rio.
