Results: Hernandez Grabs Two Golds In Event Finals
After taking first in the all-around yesterday, Laurie Hernandez was just as brilliant in event finals at the Junior Japan International. She competed in all four finals, taking gold on vault and floor, and silver on bars and beam. Hernandez scored a 14.566 on vault, a few tenths lower than her qualifying score, and shared the first place podium with Kiko Kuwajima of Japan. Russia’s Anastasiia Iliankova took the top spot on bars, while China’s Tingting Liu just edged out Hernandez for the gold on beam. Floor was an improvement for Hernandez on day two, who bested her qualifying score by almost four tenths.

Jazmyn Foberg, who finished just behind her teammate in the all around, competed in three event finals, placing third on vault and beam, and seventh on floor. After a successful overall showing in Japan, the MG Elite juniors will return to the U.S. with more international experience, and one step closer to achieving their dreams in 2016.
