MG Elite Looking To Land On The Podium

The MG Elite girls head into the Secret Classic with big titles to their names. Jazmyn Foberg is the reigning Junior National Champion and Laurie Hernandez took the junior title in Jesolo this year. They are both looking to have strong competitions tomorrow and end up standing on the podium together. 




Jazmyn Foberg:

On podium training preparation:
“Today, training went pretty well. We had short events and we just had to work our way through the events and and get ready for the meet tomorrow.”

On upgrades for this competition:
“Tomorrow I’m excited to perform my double double on floor. It’s a new skill and I’m doing it second pass.”

On goals for Secret Classic:
“My goals are to compete well and hit all the events, and get top 3 in the all-around.”

On being the reigning Junior National Champion:
“It’s exciting and it helps my confidence and I’m just really excited to compete tomorrow.”

On her gymnastics role model:
“I always look up to Simone. We’re always really close and she always helps me out.”

On her favorite event to compete:
“My favorite event to compete is probably bars, because I just like to swing and fly and I enjoy it.”
 



Laurie Hernandez:

On podium training:
“Training went really well. We had a bit of short events, but we got our stuff done, so it was good.”

On goals heading into tomorrow:
“I just want to be clean and show nice execution and get top 3.”

On coming off winning the junior title in Jesolo:
“Jesolo was like a little confidence booster. I feel very excited for tomorrow just to perform all of the events.”
