A Guide To Named Pirouettes On Beam & Floor

So far, we’ve been focusing primarily on acrobatic skills that are named after gymnasts in the Code of Points, to include dismounts from bars and beam, release moves on bars, and acrobatics on beam. This week, we’re taking a look at the dance side, summarizing pirouettes that have been named for elite gymnasts in the current Code of Points on balance beam and floor exercise.

Sam Snider is the new head coach for Pittsburgh Gymnastics for the 2017-18 season. She was an outstanding gymnast at Arkansas from 2005-2008. From 2009-2011, Snider was the director of operations, before assuming the role of assistant coach from 2012-14 and assistant head coach from 2015-16 for the Razorbacks.

The new Pittsburgh coaching staff consists of Sam Snider (head coach) as well as Ryan Snider and Dave Kuzara (assistants). This is the first year these three coaches have worked on the same staff, although they have experience together in the past that brings them together with great chemistry.
