Elsabeth Black - Canada

Reigning Canadian National Champion Ellie Black is a veteran for Canada with immense international experience. She competed at the 2012 London Olympics in her first year as a senior and helped Canada to finish fifth as a team. She’s continued to compete and improve since then. She competed at the 2013 World Championships where she finished 13th all-around and eighth on floor. At the 2014 World Championships, she placed ninth in all-around finals, the highest ever placement in a World of Olympic all-around final by a Canadian. She also qualified for beam finals but she had a fall and placed seventh. Black made her 2015 debut at the AT&T American Cup where she finished fifth all-around.

Black is a powerful gymnast and is naturally strong at vault and floor. She also uses her power on beam where she performs difficult elements for an impressive 6.2 difficulty score. She has two flight series - back handspring tuck full and back handspring layout to two feet. She also performs a double turn and a 2 1/2 twisting dismount. On floor she does a unique back 2 1/2 twist stepping out into a double tuck. Watch her floor routine from American Cup below:

Rose-Kaying Woo - Canada

Rose-Kaying Woo is the reigning Canadian junior national champion in all-around, bars, and floor. She’s been an elite gymnast since 2009, will be a senior next year, and has been dominating Canada’s junior field this past year. At the 2015 Elite Canada she won all-around then went on to win the all-around, beam, and floor at the International Gymnix.

Woo is a gorgeous gymnast to watch and is very expressive. She competes a big arabian double front and triple twist on floor. While she may not have the highest difficulty on the other events, she performs her skills with ease and has time to steadily increase her difficulty and add skills. Watch a profile video on Woo by Gymnastics Canada here.

Carlotta Ferlito - Italy

2012 Olympian Carlotta Ferlito is one of the leaders for Italy. However, she hasn’t been at full competition shape as she has been plagued with injuries and illness. She competed at the 2013 World Championships where she placed 11th all-around and fifth on beam. Her gymnastics is polished and refined and her expressive performance draws the crowd in. While she doesn’t have the hardest, biggest skills, she earns her difficulty in combinations and scores well in execution. Watch for her to bring new routines and skills in her first competition of 2015.

Erika Fasana - Italy

Erika Fasana was another member of Italy’s 2012 London Olympic team. At the Olympics she competed all-around in qualifications and helped Italy place seventh as a team. She started 2014 at the City of Jesolo Trophy but was sidelined for the rest of the year with an elbow injury, missing out on the World Championships. This year, she competed at the AT&T American Cup where she placed third all-around.

Fasana is a stylish and expressive gymnast who also displays impressive power. She shines on floor where she competes a double layout and a tuck full in and has a 5.8 difficulty score. She also has an impressive beam routine finishing with a double pike. Watch her floor routine from the American Cup below.

Emily Little - Australia

Emily Little represented Australia at the 2012 Olympics where she placed 15th all-around. She also competed at the 2010 and 2011 World Championships, qualifying for all-around finals at both. She took a break from gymnastics in 2013 and returned in 2014 where she was named the non-traveling alternate for World Championships. She made her international return in December at the Mexico Open where she won silver all-around.

Little competed at the American Cup earlier this month where she placed seventh all-around. She is an extremely powerful gymnast and shines on vault and floor. She has a 5.4 difficulty score on floor and competes a piked full in which displays enough power that looks like she could easily do a layout full in. Watch her floor routine from the American Cup here.

Louise Vanhille - France

Louise Vanhille is a second year senior international elite. She suffered an elbow injury last season that sidelined her for much of the year. She opened 2015 at the French National Championships where she won bars, placed second in all-around and on floor. In all-around she was second to teammate Loan His who will also be at Jesolo and one to watch for. Vanhille has beautiful form and execution. Although lean and elegant, she is also very powerful and gets great amplitude on her skills like her piked full in on floor and even some of her acro skills on beam. Bars looks to come easy for her and she swings with ease.
