Larisa Iordache Confident Heading into Worlds
Romanian gymnast Larisa Iordache expressed her confidence heading into the 2014 World Championships. As the veteran of team Romania, she will be leading her teammates Alina Stanila, Anamaria Ocolisan, Silvia Zarzu, Andreea Munteanu, Cristina Tudorache, and Ioana Nicoara and hoping to earn a team spot on the podium.

Last year Iordache placed fourth in all-around, just missing out on a medal and she has stated her eyes are on gold this year. She qualified for beam and floor finals last year and earned a bronze on floor.

On her competition:
“I will take the team [event] and individual floor and balance beam this year, and I feel so confident about myself and our team. I trained very hard. As you see, our team is always late leaving the gymnastics hall. I have to say it’s so tiring after training every day, but I think this feeling is very great.

On her own goal at the championships:
“I won a bronze medal in the last world gymnastics championships, so I want make it better and win the gold medal.''

On the floor:
“The condition is good. The only thing I want to say is the mat on the floor is so hard, but I will do my best to overcome it in competition."
