The No. 4 ranked Alabama gymnastics team beat No. 11 Auburn in Coleman Coliseum Friday night, 197.925 – 196.175, in front of a 13,089 fans.

After opening strong on its first two events, the Crimson Tide exploded on the balance beam, turning in a 49.650, the second highest score in school history, behind a 10.0 from junior Kaitlyn Clark. It was the Crimson Tide’s second 10.0 of the season and the first on balance beam since 2003. Alabama also got 9.95s on the balance beam from freshman Aja Sims and senior Kim Jacob.

Alabama followed that up with a 49.500 on the floor exercise paced by senior Diandra Milliner’s 9.95 in the anchor position. Freshman Amanda Jetter and sophomore Lauren Beers both chipped in 9.9s to the Tide’s floor total.

Senior Kim Jacob closed out her final meet in Coleman Coliseum with a career-best 39.625 to win the all-around while freshman Katie Bailey was third with a career-best of her own, going 39.400.

Milliner led the Tide to a 49.500 score on the vault with a 9.95 while Jacob added a career-best 9.925 and Beers went 9.900. On the uneven bars, freshman Aja Sims posted a 9.900 to pace the Tide to a 49.275 team score. Jacob and Clark both added 9.875s to the Tide’s beam total.

With the regular season behind them, Alabama gets the postseason started with the SEC Championships on Saturday, March 22 at 6 p.m. in the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center.
