2013 Level 9 Eastern and Western Nationals RESULTS


The 2013 Women's Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships will be held May 2-5. The Level 9 Eastern Championships are in Battle Creek, Michigan, while the Western Championships will be held in Roseville, California.

The Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships are the competitive season's culmination event and feature the best gymnasts in the country for Level 9. The Eastern Championships feature 16 age divisions, and the Western Championships feature eight age divisions. The age divisions are determined by birth date. The Eastern Championships includes top gymnasts from Regions 5-8 and the Western Championships has the top gymnasts from Regions 1-4. The number of age divisions for each championships was determined by the respective committees.

Below are the top results from each of the age division. Results will continue to be updated throughout the weekend. 


2013 LEVEL 9 WESTERN CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

Junior A 

Rachel Baumann of WOGA used a 9.70 on beam in the final rotation to edge Shyan Phillips of Pacific West for the coveted all around title. Rachel is the younger sister of WOGA elite Alyssa Baumann who has recently returned from injury and will be one to watch on the elite scene this summer. Alyssa also won the Level 9 National All Around title back in 2010! Rachel looks to have the potential to follow her sister to the elite level. 

Phillips won the vault title. Jillian Hoffman of SCEGA, Jordan Bowers of Solid Rock, and Rachel Schuelke of West Coast Elite tied for the uneven bars tittle. WOGA's Deanna West won beam with a 9.725 and Shilese Jones of Auburn won floor with a powerful routine. 






Junior B

Talia Brovedani of Head Over Heels used a huge 38.575 to win the Jr B title. Brovendani also won the Region 1 All Around title this year. Coming in second was Madison Dagen of San Mateo, the younger sister of Lacy Dagen who competed as a junior elite at last year's Visa Championships.

Shaylah Scott of Infinite Bounds won vault with a 9.70 while Kaitlin Deguzman of Metroplex won the uneven bars title with a near-perfect routine scoring a 9.80.
Brovedani also won gold on beam, and Sekai Wright of American Gym Academy won floor. 





Junior C

Kelley Hebert of Edge California posted her highest all around score of the season, 38.150, to clinch the Jr C All Around title. She edged out SoCal State Champion Kendal Poston of Azarian by a quarter of a tenth. 

Poston's 9.70 on vault in the first rotation was good for the event title. Kaitlin Scott of Metroplex won bars, making two uneven bar titles for the Texas Club so far this weekend. Gabrielle DeLeon of Airborne won beam while Trisha Raquel of American Gymnastics Academy of California won floor. 





Junior D

Nina Schank of Head Over Heels won the all around with a 38.175 and was the only gymnast to score over a 38.0 in her division. Schank took home two individual event titles titles with wins on beam and a tie for first on vault with Alexis Allen of Deltchev.




Senior A

Sarah Johnstone of Precision CA was the all around winner by .50 over Leah Perrin of Gold Medal.

Sydney Perry
of Azarian scored a 9.625 and 9.600 to win bars and floor. 



Senior B

Roxanna Agah of Airborne and Taya Yelton of SCEGA went 1-2 in the all around. 
Grace Donaghy of Multnomah won bars with a 9.675 and Gabriela Aguilar won beam with a 9.600. 

Kristen Quaglia of Classic Gymnastics  was the vault champion scoring a 9.675 and Carly Richardson of OK Gold was the floor champion with a 9.525.


Senior C

Cassie Evans of Westside scored a 37.550 to win  the all around title over Aspen Hattley of Trevino's. Evans placed first on beam with a 9.5500.

Jurea Jackson of HGC JCC took the vault title with a 9.500 and Brooke Young of SCEGA won floor with a score of 9.525.



Senior D

Alex Kennedy of Auburn GC was the all around champion followed by Kassin Kim-Hayes of Head Over Heels. 

Jessica Ralph of Byers Elk Grove won beam with a 9.6 and Sydney Thomas of Multomah was the bars champion with a score of 9.400.




2013 LEVEL 9 EASTERN CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

Junior 1

Gabrielle Perea of Legacy Elite Gymnastics in Illinois came out on top with a 37.925 all around score. Fellow Region 5 gymnast Shania Adams of Buckeye came in second.

Elexis Edwards of VA International won the vault title while Kathleen Ours of Win-Win Gym won the uneven bars. Perea also tied for gold on beam with Abbie Thompson of ACE Gymnastics, and shared the floor title with Matilyn Waligoraof Olympia Gym Academy.



Junior 2

1996 Olympic Champion Jaycie Phelps has a strong team of level 9's at her new gym in Indiana, JPAC, and today she coached Hadyn Crossen to the all around, vault, and beam titles. Shealyn Luksik of X-Cel Gymnastics was close behind in second. 

Kai Rivers of Geddert's Twistars won the uneven bars title and finished 3rd all around while her Twistars teammate Jori Jackard won the floor title and placed 4th all around. 



Junior 3

Kaitlyn Higgins of Gym Academy Rockford was crowned Junior C all around Champion ahead of Kristin Lang of Rochester GA. 

Sabriyya Rouse of Team Attraction clinched the vault title and Mei Li Costa of Arena won bars. North Stars gymnast Kaylee Quinn was taken out of the all around race after a low score on floor but won beam with a gorgeous routine. Stephanie Tripodi continued Silvia's Gymnastics' tradition of strong floor workers and won the floor title with a 9.550.





Junior 4

Abby Heiskell of Southeastern Gymnastics in North Carolina posted a big 38.0 all around score to easily win the Junior 4 title. She also won the beam and floor titles and tied for second on uneven bars.

Paige Apperson
of Silvia's and Britney Nguyen of Prestige-PA tied for second all around. Apperson won the vault title outright with a 9.550. And finally, Allison Frommer of Hill's Gymnastics won uneven bars with a 9.60. 




Junior 5 

Thanks to a 9.575 on vault, Sophia Bochenek of Splitz Gymnastics edged Karrine Schwartz of Hill's for the Junior 5 All Around title. 

Ellie Wylie of North Stars won vault with a 9.60. Audrey Barber of Sportsplex won uneven bars and finished 3rd all around. Sarah Goldman of Gold Medal-Huntington won beam while Jordan Ceccerini of Farmingdale won floor. 




Junior 6

Emma Breitbarth of Gold Medal-Huntington and Rachel Kaplan of North Stars went 1-2 in the all around and each won an individual event title. Breitbarth won her second gold of the day on beam while Kaplan was crowned floor champion. 

Mia Falbo of Aerial Gymnastics won vault, and Nasha Manitkul-Davis of JPAC won uneven bars. 


Junior 7

Brooke Chesney of Cincinnati Gymnastics won the all around title followed by Amanda Arnold of Twistars. Additionally, Chesney won two individual event titles on vault and floor. 

Bailey Stehler of Rochester GA was the uneven bars champion with a score of 9.675 and Madeline Pope of Southern Starz won vault with a 9.500.

Junior 8

Hannah Swoish of Gymnastix took home the all around title along with vault and  beam. 
Alyssa Wiggle of Oakland Gymnastics placed second in the all around and tied with Swoish for the vault title. 

Sydney Hunt of Mid Ohio Gymnastics won the floor title with a 9.450. 


 Senior 1

Alyssa Schiller of Splitz Gymnastics won the all around with a 37.850 and  the beam and vault titles with a 9.500. 

Anabelle Hippensteel of Hanover Gymnastics finished second in the all around and won floor with a score of  9.525. 


Senior 2

MaKenzie Grilliot of Queen City won the all around over Alexa Phillips of Georgia Elite.  Grilliot also won beam with a 9.475. 

Phillips was the floor champion with a 9.475 and Dinaisya Harrison of Kidsport scored a 9.550 to win the vault title. 

Senior 3

Jamie Stone of World Class won the all around with a 37.755 and placed first on floor with a 9.500. 

Lucy Jones of Twistars scored a huge 9.700 to win the title on uneven bars.



Senior 4

Kasey Janowicz of Bay Valley had a great meet winning beam, floor and the all around. 
Tessa Walsh of IGI followed Janowicz in the all around and won her own title on vault with a 9.575.

Chandra Miller of Champion Gymnastics placed first on bars with a 9.600. 





Senior 5

Briana Barrett of Tampa Bay Turners won the all around title with a 37.475 and picked up a second title on vault scoring a 9.450. 

Amanda Talbot of GTC also won two titles with strong performances on beam and floor scoring a 9.475 and 9.400. 



Senior 6

Monique Brooks of Fairland won the all around with a 37.450 followed by Lena Gillis of Sportsplex. Brooks had the highest score of the day on floor while Gillis won the beam title. 


Senior 7

Morgan Miller of Olympia was a three time champion after winning beam, floor and the all around. 

Aubrie Purtell of Crystal Lake took home the uneven bars crown following a great routine earning an impressive 9.600. 



Senior 8 

Cassidy Robinson of Twistars earned the all around title with a 37.400 and uneven bars with a 9.625. 

Joanna Reale of St. Charles was the co-beam champion with Kendyl Stewart of Farmington. Stewart was also the floor champion scoring a 9.450.
