We are excited to announce that 2008 Olympian and 2005 World All Around Champion Chellsie Memmel plans to compete at the CoverGirl Classic, July 23rd in Chicago. This will be Memmel's first national competition since the 2009 Visa Championships where she competed just one event. 

At this point, Memmel plans to compete all around in hopes of qualifying to the Visa Championships in St. Paul in August. She is not currently a member of the USA National team and has not attended any training camps since her comeback. This will be her first all around performance since the 2008 Olympic Trials when she delivered this tremendous floor routine en route to solidifying her place on the team for Beijing:



Chellsie Memmel has a total of seven World and Olympic medals to her name but is back for more. Why, you ask? Here is the interview that gymnastike contributor Jason MacDonald did with Memmel when she made her comeback official back in January at the Circle of Stars club invitational:
