Simone Biles is on the shortlist of finalists for TIME's Person of the Year 2016. In a historic and golden year, Biles proved herself to be the greatest gymnast of all time and has become a worldwide celebrity.

There are 11 candidates on the list, which was announced Monday on the TODAY Show:

3. CRISPR Scientists
4. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
5. Nigel Farage
6. The Flint Whistleblowers
7. Beyoncé Knowles
8. Narendra Modi
9. Vladimir Putin
10. Donald Trump
11. Mark Zuckerberg

The 2016 Person of the Year will be announced on the TODAY Show Wednesday morning.
