The World's Top All Arounders Take On The American Cup - MAG Edition
The AT&T American Cup will take place this Saturday, March 5th in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center. The American Cup is a FIG World Cup event and has a long history, dating back to 1976. Every year, countries send some of their top all-around competitors on both the women and men’s side to this much-anticipated event - one of the first major elite competitions of the year. The fact that this is an Olympic year makes the competition that much more exciting. You can catch the American Cup live on NBC at 1:00pm EST. Below, we've given you the breakdown about what to expect from this year's competition from the men's side.

The competition consists of nine competitors vying for the top three spots and will be made up of some top gymnasts who competed at Worlds, in addition to some returning from injury. One of the most anticipated returns is that of USA's Sam Milulak. Mikulak was forced to pull out of Worlds at the last minute due to a slight tear in his Achilles. He is a three-time consecutive National Champion for the USA and so he will be expected to score big at this meet.

Another top competitor to watch for is Great Britain's Nile Wilson, who helped the team to a silver medal in Glasgow. Wilson did not compete in the all-around finals at Worlds due to the two-per-country rule and a tie breaker - he actually tied teammate Max Whitlock in qualifications with an 88.365.

USA's Donnell Whittenburg will also be competing. Whittenburg did well in Glasgow and qualified to both the rings and vault finals, and he won the bronze medal on vault. Check out his Dragalescu vault below from podium training at Worlds:

Additional competitors on the men's side are:
  • Lucas De Souza Bitencourt (Brazil) - Placed 20th in All-Around at 2015 World Championships
  • Pablo Braegger (Switzerland) - Placed 13th in All-Around at 2015 World Championships
  • Andreas Bretschneider (Germany) - Placed 5th on High Bar at 2015 World Championships
  • Ryohei Kato (Japan) - Won Bronze Medal on Parallel Bars at 2014 World Championships & Member of Silver Medal winning team.
  • Park Minsoo (Korea) - Placed 18th in All-Around at 2015 World Championships
  • Sun Wei (China) - Member of Silver Medal winning team at 2015 Asian Championships
