Wynter Childers is a senior at Spearfish Gymnastics this year and qualified for the 2016 Nastia Liukin Cup from the Wisconsin Dells Classic with a 38.450.

This is her third time qualifying for the competition, earning berths in 2012 and 2014 as well. Childers wanted to qualify one last time before heading to the University of Alabama in the fall.

The highlight was definitely the reaction of my mom and coaches after we found out that I qualified. It was so fun and everyone was so happy.

She has some big aspirations for the rest of the 2016 season, including placing in the top three at nationals and at the Nastia Cup. However, she also desires something that could prove even more rewarding.

My main goal for this year is to enjoy the ride. I want to live in the moment and take it all in.

Get to know a bit more about Childers in this edition of ‘Inside Their World’

FloGymnastics: How did you get involved in gymnastics?
Wynter Childers: I got involved with gymnastics mostly because my mom needed a daycare for me and my sister. And after that, I couldn't get enough of the sport!

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not at the gym?
My favorite thing to do in my free time is to go to my favorite coffee shop in my home town called Green Bean and just drink coffee and hangout!

What do you want to do when you grow up?
I want to make movie trailers! Or maybe be a photographer. I also think it would be really cool to be in some sort of Cirque Du Soleil show!

What is your favorite subject in school?
I love all of my art classes I'm taking! I'm in black and white photo right now where you get to go into the dark room and work with film and I'm obsessed with it! It's so fun!

Where would you prefer to live- beach, city, or country?
I am in between wanting to live in an apartment overlooking Central Park in New York or having a house where I can open my back door and be on a beach!

What is one single food that you would never give up?
One food I could never give up is bread... Or coffee... I love them both.
