Mar 30, 2010
Gymnastike covered the 2010 Big 12 Championships, but due to the television contract, we are limited to showing just 3 minutes of competition footage. So, here you go: 2 hours of incredible Championship gymnastics packed into 3 minutes. Don't blink.
Oklahoma is having the best season in program history and came into the Conference meet as the favorite to win, but competition in the Big 12 has really increased this year with every team coming into the meet ranked in the top 16 nationally. #12 Nebraska came out firing on floor and vault and held onto the lead up until the 3rd rotation when OU nailed vault after vault. Oklahoma finished their day on bars and held onto their lead en route to their 3rd-straight Big 12 Conference title. Missouri started off the meet by having to count a fall on bars and finished 3rd with Iowa State in 4th. Coach K.J. Kindler of OU was named Big 12 Coach of the Year, Natasha Kelley of OU was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, and Sarah Shire of Missouri who is currently ranked 1st nationally in the All-Around was named Big 12 Gymnast of the year. She also won the Big 12 All-Around title.
