Texas Women's narrowly defeats Lindenwood
One of their best performances to date, Lindenwood Gymnastics closed their regular season with a narrow defeat by the Texas Woman's University Poineers.

Lindenwood started strong on Vault posting a score of 47.875, coming out with a .4 lead over TWU's rough bar rotation. The Pioneers posted a 47.40 after being forced to count a fall.

On Vault, TWU was able to close the gap and pull ahead by posting a 48.425. Meanwhile the Lady Lions were forced to count a fall early in the bar rotation. Emily Turik and Courtney Heise's 9.75s weren't enough to catch up.

On Beam, Lindenwood posted a team high score of 48.05, all 6 athletes nailing their sets including Valeri Ingui who posted a personal best of 9.775. Meanwhile on Floor, TWU posted 4 solid scores but still had to count a fall. Their rotation was highlighted by Kristin Edward's 9.825.

Moving into the final rotation, Lindenwood's Floor rotation was uncharacteristically lackluster, scoring consistently in the mid-nines. Rachel Zabawa's 9.80 just wasn't enough to dig Lindenwood out.

TWU closed out their meet with three scores in the 9.80 range on beam with Spencer Jones posting a meet-hight 9.875.

Texas Woman's defeated Lindenwood by only a .7 margin; the final score 192.75 to 191.95.

The two teams will meet again at the 2013 MIC Conference Championships on Saturday, Mar. 23.
