Metroplex Challenge Results: Women's NCAA Session
...

The Oklahoma women took the Metroplex NCAA title once again! The atmosphere was electric! Very rarely do you get to see this many top ranked teams in one meet during the regular season. Coming into the competition, OU was ranked #2, LSU #7, Georgia #9, and Oregon State #16. The Sooners narrowly topped LSU who posted an incredible 197.1. Taylor Spears of OU and Rheagan Courville of LSU shared the All Around title with a 39.45.

Highlights of the evening included a nearly perfect beam routine from Sooner Lauren Alexander (9.975), the stuck vaults by LSU, Chelsea Davis scoring a 9.95 on bars for the second week in a row, Rheagan Courville winning a 10.0 from one of the judges (9.95 average), the pressure Oregon State put on their competition, Haley Scaman's double layout and the execution of the entire LSU floor rotation. More specifically, the sheer performance of Lloimincia Hall on floor caused the audience to yell and cheer louder than any other time during the competition!

Boomer Sooner! Congratulations to both the OU men and women for taking home the Metroplex trophy this year!

Event Info
The Metroplex Challenge will also be hosting a women's NCAA session on Saturday! Rarely do this many top ranked teams compete together before the Super Six Competition. Teams include Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Washington and Oregon State. Georgia, LSU and OU are all ranked in the top 10 teams in the nation, so there will be a fierce competition for the title. Georgia is led by seniors Noel Couch and Shayla Worley as well as sophomore former elite, Chelsea Davis. This is also the first season for new head coach Danna Durante. LSU is led by sophomores Rheagan Courville and Lloimincia Hall. Former head coach of Georgia, Jay Clark, is not the Associate Head Coach to long time Head Coach, D D Breaux. OU, unfortunately losing senior leader Kayla Nowak to injury before season, will be led by Seniors Brie Olson, Taylor Spears, and Freshman Haley Scaman. This is a match off you do not want to miss!
