Women's 2012 Olympic Gymnastics Qualifiers

LONDON (GBR), FIG Office, January 12, 2012: The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has officially published the list of Women's Artistic Gymnastics qualifiers for the 2012 London Olympic Games.   A total of 98 spots are available, with gymnasts qualifying at the 2011 World Championships in Tokyo (JPN) and the Visa International Gymnastics in January 2012 in London (GBR).   Twelve teams of five gymnasts from USA, Russia, China, Romania, Japan, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, France and Brazil fill 60 spots.   Teams ranking fifth to eighth at the Test Event earn one position each for their NOC (Belgium, Korea, Spain and the Netherlands), with the remaining positions being nominative as per the attached list.   Three places are set aside for continental balance and for tripartite universality. 2012 Olympic Test Event RESULTS! Women's Qualification

The second day of competition at the 2012 Olympic gymnastics Test Event, the final qualifier for the 2012 London Olympics, has just concluded! The women got things started this morning in London with much on the line. RESULTS ARE IN! Men's Artistic Gymnastics 2012 Olympic Qualifiers!

LONDON (GBR), FIG Office, January 11, 2012: The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) today publishes the list of Men’s Artistic Gymnastics qualifiers for the 2012 London Olympic Games.   A total of 98 spots are available, with gymnasts qualifying at the 2011 World Championships in Tokyo (JPN) and the Visa International Gymnastics in January 2012 in London (GBR).   Twelve teams of five gymnasts from Japan, USA, China, Germany, Russia, Korea, Romania, Ukraine, Great Britain, France, Spain and Italy fill 60 spots.   The Individual Apparatus medallists of the 2011 Worlds, who fulfilled the minimum criteria and whose countries did not qualify a full team, namely Diego Hypolito (BRA), Alexander Shatilov (ISR), Krisztian Berki (HUN), Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti (BRA) and Vasileios Tsolakidis (GRE) are qualified taking a total of five nominative places.   Teams ranking fifth to eighth at the second qualifier earn one position for their NOC (Canada, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Belarus), with the remaining positions being nominative as per the attached list.   Three places are set aside for continental balance and for tripartite universality. 2012 Olympic Test Event RESULTS! Men's Qualification

The first day of competition at the 2012 Olympic gymnastics Test Event, the final qualifier for the 2012 London Olympics, has just concluded! The men got things started this morning in London with much on the line. Results are in! The four additional countries who have officially qualifed full teams to the 2012 Olympic Games are: Great Britain, France, Spain, and Italy! The British men dominated today's competition, securing the lead by nearly eight points! This is the first time Great Britain has qualified a full men's team to an Olympic Games since 1992. Big sigh of relief for the host country to have successfully qualifed a full team for both men and women. Final Results: Team Results: 1. GREAT BRITAIN, 358.227 2. FRANCE 350.659 3.
