Simone Biles has been training in the gym full-time under new coach Laurent Landi, and she already has all her skills from the Olympics back, according to Newsday.

Prior to November, Biles was conditioning and getting back into "gymnastics shape" after taking just over a year off from the sport. In just under a month of gymnastics training, she has regained the ability to do every skill she performed in Rio.

Are we surprised? Maybe a little. But not really. After all, it is Simone Biles.

Muscle memory is a beautiful thing.

“I’m more excited than I thought I would be," said Biles when talking about her return. But it wasn't a breeze for Biles at the beginning, though. She said,

I couldn’t walk after the first two or three days, but after we got over that hump, it was good.

The first couple days may have been rough, but it sure didn't take long for the Olympic champ to return to form.

"I already have all of my skills from the Olympics and I haven’t been doing gym for a year-and-a-half, so that’s kind of exciting," she said.

Biles maybe even surprised herself a bit with how smooth she was able to get back into her groove.

"I just got them all back,” she said. "I don’t know. It’s kind of crazy."

She said she has her eyes on another Olympics, "but I try not to think too far ahead of myself."

Biles has said she plans to attend the January national team training camp at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center in Huntsville, Texas. That will be the first step in her ultimate long-term goal of competing in Tokyo.
