Dan Fields explains a few different drills to enforce correct body shaping as well as timing for toe hands, toe shoots, Maloneys, Rays, and other variations in the same family of skills.

The first drill uses a floor bar set up which enables gymnasts to drill shapes on their own, activating the correct core muscles. This drill can easily be worked into a bar rotation as a side station. The last drill is a very hands-on, spotted drill for gymnasts to really get the feeling and timing of executing the skills with the correct body shapes and positions. The drill uses a normal bar so gymnasts can get used to the bounce and correct timing of the grip shift.
