Roxana Popa of Spain won the Senior All Around tonight in Acapulco at the Mexico Open. Maggie Nichols of Twin City Twisters, and Peyton Ernst of Texas Dreams, won the silver and bronze. Nichols was solid in the first rotation on the floor exercise, executing a double layout and a piked full-in for her first two passes. Nichols competed on the balance beam in the final rotation, performing two back handsprings to a two-foot layout and a double pike dismount. She finished with a 57.300 total, just .050 shy of Spain's Roxana Popa, who won the all-around title.

Ernst began competition on the balance beam where she suffered a fall on her acrobatic series. On the floor exercise, she mounted with a double layout. Her four-event total was 57.150, which earned the bronze.

Josh Dixon began his day on the parallel bars and performed a Peach to Tippelt opening. He moved to the high bar next where he performed a full-twisting layout Jaeger and dismounted with a full-twisting double back. In the final rotation, he performed a front handspring double full vault. He finished the competition in fifth with a 85.250 score. Colombia's Jossimar Calvo took the men's all-around title with a 90.500.

Earlier this week, the USA won both the men's and women's team titles, as well as swept the top two spots in the women's and men's all-around, at the International Junior Mexican Cup in Acapulco, Mexico. Bailie Key of Montgomery, Texas/Texas Dreams, and Lauren Hernandez of Old Bridge, N.J./MG Elite, went one-two in the women's all-around, and Kiwan Watts of N. Chesterfield, Va./Above the Bar Gymnastics Academy, and Alec Yoder of Indianapolis/InterActive Academy, took the top two spots, respectively, for the men.

The USA is also competing this weekend in Stuttgart, Germany. Earlier today defending champion Elizabeth Price of Coopersburg, Pa./Parkettes, won her second straight title at the DTB World Cup, which is part of the International Gymnastics Federation's all-around World Cup series. 2012 Olympian John Orozco of the Bronx, N.Y./Team Hilton HHonors (U.S. Olympic Training Center), will compete tomorrow.
