On Saturday at the USA National team training center, junior elite Simone Biles of Bannon's Gymnastix in Texas vaulted a big 2.5 twisting yurchenko and earned the top all around total for all sessions at the 2012 American Classic, a 56.450.

The American Classic served as a qualifier for the Secret Classic on May 26th and June's Visa Championships. Seniors must score over 54.00 all around to advance to Championships, or 53.00 to advance to Secret Classics. Juniors must score over 52.50 to advance to Championships, and 51.00 for Classics. 

In the senior division, Kennedy Baker of Texas Dreams took the all around title with a 56.200 with last year's champion, Abigail Millet of Denton, in 2nd with a 55.550. Both athletes secured their place in the senior division at the 2012 Visa Championships. Fellow Texan Mackenzie Brannan of Capital finished 3rd with 53.900 and will have another chance to qualify at the Secret Classic. 

In the junior division, Peyton Ernst and Nica Hults, both of Texas Dreams, finished 2nd and 3rd behind Biles in the second session and tied for the beam title with matching 14.50's. In the first of two sessions, Meredith Silvia of Parkettes won the all around title with a 53.250. Of the 20 junior elite competitors, 11 girls earned the optional all around qualifying score for the 2012 Visa Championships: Biles, Ernst, Hults, Sylvia, Jessica Wang of Winner's Academy, Maggie Nichols of Twin City Twisters, Alexis Beuchler of Cincinnati, Amanda Huang of Northwind, Nicole Lehrmann of Capital, Shannon McNatt of Stars, and Ashton Kim of Texas Dreams.
