Stuttgart: China’s Zhang And Russia's Belyavskiy Win, Chiles Takes Bronze

Zhang Jin (CHN) and David Belyavskiy (RUS) took gold medals in women and men's all-around competition this past weekend at the Stuttgart World Cup Event in Germany.

Zhang's all-around score of 53.431 put her ahead of Elisabeth Seitz of Germany and American Jordan Chiles. Zhang's two gold medal count included the highest score of the day on Beam (13.533). She also took silver on floor.

Belyavskiy took gold medals both in the All-Around (85.732) and Pommel Horse (14.733). This was an exciting finish after his appearance last year in Montreal.

The Americans

Akash Modi represented the U.S. men with second-place finishes in both the all-around and pommel horse behind Belyavskiy. The 2016 U.S. Olympic alternate put up a 14.733 on pommel and totaled an 84.098 all-around.

American fan-favorite Jordan Chiles competed in her senior international debut, and she did not disappoint. The 18-year-old kicked off the competition with the top score on vault (14.666) for a nearly stuck double-twisting Yurchenko. She also dominated the floor competition (13.633). Chiles took home an all-around bronze for her performance.
