5 Can't-Miss Routines From Oklahoma Sooners, SEC Squads, And Utah Utes

There are still some fantastic routines to catch before the NCAA gymnastics season winds down and gives way to regionals. This week's five can't-miss routines come from the defending national champion Sooners, a slew of SEC squads, and the Utes out west.

1. Sophia Carter | Arkansas | Beam

Friday, March 16 at 7:45 PM ET vs Denver and Iowa State

Carter has been a standout for the Razorbacks on balance beam this season and scored a career-high 9.975 on two occasions. She will be looking to bounce back after a fall last weekend in a quad meet at Oklahoma. She has scored a 9.800 or better eight times this season with half of those routines going 9.900 or better.

2. Anastasia Webb | Oklahoma | Vault

Friday, March 16 at 8:30 PM ET vs Alabama

Webb has been solid for the Sooners all season across all four events. Her Omeilanchik is the most unique vault in the Sooners’ lineup, and with the 10.0 start value the routine has helped Oklahoma continue to put up big scores. Webb struggled a bit early on this season with the landing and had a fall against UCLA in Week 4, but after a couple of weeks off has hit 9.900 or better in her last three meets.

3. Lexi Graber | Alabama | Beam

Friday, March 16 at 8:30 PM ET vs Oklahoma

Graber scored her third straight 9.900 last weekend against Auburn for a pretty beam routine. She is solid on her acro skills—a back handspring-layout to two feet and a kickover front to scale. The freshman has posted a 9.800 or better in seven beam routines and the Crimson Tide will hope that steady, consistent beam work continues into the postseason.

4. Marissa Oakley | Georgia | Uneven Bars

Friday, March 16 at 9:30 PM ET vs Utah

null

Oakley was great on bars during her club and elite career, and after battling an injury during preseason she broke into the lineup on three events in the season’s opening week. She has scored a 9.825 or better in six of her last seven routines. The freshman has beautiful lines and great toe point in her skills.

5. MaKenna Merrell-Giles | Utah | Floor

Friday, March 16 at 9:30 PM vs Georgia

Merrell-Giles has been an important piece for the Utes on all four events. She has competed in the all-around in all nine meets and posted a 9.900 or better on floor in the first seven meets this season, including a season-high 9.975 against Washington in Week 5. The highlight of her routine comes in the opening pass—a high piked full-in.
