INDIANAPOLIS – Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State Gymnastics, and Yul Moldauer of Arvada, Colo./University of Oklahoma, have been nominated for the U.S. Olympic Committee's Female and Male Athlete of the Month for October. Fans can vote for Hurd and Moldauer at TeamUSA.org/Awards through midnight Tuesday, November 7.

Hurd won the women’s all-around gold medal with her clutch performance at the 2017 World Championships in Montreal, Canada. Her impressive all-around victory extended the U.S. women’s winning streak to seven straight World or Olympic titles. The U.S. women have not lost a World or Olympic all-around gold medal since 2010. The 16-year-old, who was competing in her first world championships, wrapped up her impressive competition by capturing silver in the balance beam final.

Moldauer, who is reigning U.S. men’s all-around and floor champion, claimed the floor exercise bronze medal at the 2017 World Championships, securing the first world floor medal for an American male since 2013. His solid performance in Montreal also featured a seventh-place finish in the men’s all-around final. Moldauer is having a breakout 2017 season highlighted by key victories at the AT&T American Cup, Winter Cup and P&G Championships.
