Recruiting Breakdown: Six Join George Washington for 2018
George Washington had a stellar 2017 season, which finished at the Morgantown regional. The Colonels finished fifth as a team and were led by Chelsea Raineri on vault and Cami Drouin-Allaire in the all-around. Both gymnasts advanced to the NCAA championships as individuals—Raineri on vault after she was the top event finisher and Drouin-Allaire in the all-around as a top-two all-arounder who was not on a qualifying team. George Washington finished 20th in the regular season and have an stellar group of rising seniors to take the lead in 2018.

​Outgoing: ​Kaitlin Cowles, Alex DeMoura, Chelsea Raineri, Kaila Solomon

The Colonels lose seven routines between Alex DeMoura and Chelsea Raineri—one on each event from DeMoura and routines on vault, bars and floor from Raineri. DeMoura competed the all-around in all 13 meets this season and hit a 9.700 or better in 43 of 52 routines. She did not score below a 9.700 on floor all season. Raineri was solid on all three of her events, but especially on vault where she scored a 9.800 or better 11 times. She scored a season-best 9.900 on Feb. 19 vs. Iowa and LSU.

Anna Warhol

Poland, Ohio
Trained at Youngstown Gymnastics Center

Warchol was a two-time JO national championship qualifier in back-to-back seasons. She tied for 18th on floor exercise in 2017 and tied for 25th on balance beam in 2016. She earned silver in the all-around at the 2017 Region 5 championships where she finished fourth on beam, fifth on vault and seventh on both uneven bars and floor exercise. Warchol earned bronze on vault at the Ohio state championships in 2017 and silver on bars at states in 2016. She picked up silver on floor and bronze in the all-around at the 2016 region 5 championships.

Chloe Vitoff

Phoenix, Arizona
Trained at Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics

Vitoff is a two-time JO national championship qualifier and competed at the Region 1 championships three straight years. She placed eighth on vault and 12th on bars at the 2015 JO nationals. She was the 2015 Arizona state champion on vault, picked up bronze in the all-around, fourth on floor, fifth on bars and sixth on beam. She finished seventh on bars at the 2017 regional championships. She picked up fourth in the all-around at the Arizona state championships where she also earned fifth on floor, beam and vault. Vitoff notched a fifth place finish in the all-around at the state championships in 2016. She was the bronze medalist on vault and finished fourth on floor.

Hannah Cohen

Dix Hills, New York
Gold Medal Gymnastics Center

Cohen was a four-time JO national championship or JO NIT qualifier with her best performances coming in 2015 on bars (sixth) and in 2016 on beam (10th). She was the New York state champion on uneven bars in 2017. She also grabbed silver on balance beam and bronze on floor exercise and in the all-around. She earned silver on floor and bronze in the all-around and on beam at the 2017 Region 6 championships. Cohen was the Region 6 all-around and balance beam champion in 2015 and the floor champion in 2014.

Olivia Norman

Herndon, Virginia
Trained at Chantilly Academy Gymnastics Gymstars

Norman qualified for the Region 7 championships three years in a row. She earned bronze on uneven bars at regionals in 2017 where she was eighth on vault and ninth on both beam and in the all-around. She was second on vault, third in the all-around and on uneven bars, fourth on beam and fifth on floor at the Virginia state championships in 2017. Norman finished eighth (2016) and 11th (2015) on bars at regionals.

Gemma Guttenberg

New York, New York
Trained at Chelsea Piers NYC Gymnastics Program

Guttenberg was a three-time New York state championships competitor. She finished sixth in the all-around and on vault at the 2017 Region 7 championships and earned fifth on balance beam and seventh on floor. She was fifth on vault and sixth on floor exercise at the state championships in 2017. In 2016, Guttenberg picked up a fifth place finish on floor at regionals and a sixth place finish on vault.

Catherine Karpova

Brookline, Massachusetts
Trained at Massachusetts Elite Gymnastics Academy

Karpova was a two-time JO national championship qualifier in 2015 and 2016. She finished fourth on beam, ninth on uneven bars and 13th in the all-around at JO nationals in 2016. Karpova finished fourth on both beam and floor at the Regional 6 championships in 2017. She was fifth on those same events that the Massachusetts state championships. Karpova grabbed silver on uneven bars in 2016 at regionals where she also finished sixth in the all-around, seventh on beam and eighth on floor. She grabbed silver on balance beam at the 2016 state championships. In 2015, Karpova picked up silver on bars and fifth on both beam and in the all-around and was sixth on floor.
