Rita Wieber is the mother of World and US Champion Jordyn Wieber of Gedderts' Twistars USA in Michigan. Rita will be blogging about her experience throughout the Olympic Games. God has a plan, that I know..... Things don't always end up as we think they should-- but in the end... maybe not for a very long time- but at some point it becomes obvious that God had a good plan. I have to believe that.... Otherwise, life makes no sense some times.

I always knew that there was the chance Jo would not make AA finals.... Only 2 athletes per country, regardless of score, can go to the AA finals. To me, that makes no sense.. Shouldn't the AA finals be the top 8 athletes, period???? It doesn't make sense yet. It doesn't matter -- it is what it is....

I may write more later on how this all feels from a mom standpoint--- but for now I want to say this....

I am VERY proud of Jordyn and love her more than anything. I am heartbroken that she won't have the chance to fulfill her lifelong dream-- but I pray that she will feel fulfilled and grateful for what she has accomplished and contributed to this sport. It has been a long road for all of the gymnasts. Sometimes things don't end up the way we want. This, however, is the time to be thankful to God for the opportunities, good health, and accomplishments that have been provided. To be part of an Olympic team is an amazing accomplishment in itself-- and I hope that is what Jordyn feels in the end. She is very blessed.

It's not over yet by any means!! The USA team has a great chance at winning the team gold medal for the first time since 1996.

Please pray for the girls -- and remember-- GOD is GREAT!!
