UK Gymnast Shelby Hilton Continues Fight Against Cancer

**Updated: 9/9/15
University of Kentucky gymnast Shelby Hilton was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year (read our original post here).  Hilton has undergone Proton Radiation Therapy and has been undergoing Chemotherapy treatments for the past several months. She just finished her last and final day of chemo yesterday, and posted on Twitter about the landmark day:
The entire gymnastics community, and far beyond, has been behind Shelby in her fight against cancer, and will continue to support her on the journey ahead.

Hilton and her family have created a GoFundMe page where you can donate to help them pay for medical bills. See the page and donate here

Hilton is originally from St. Petersburg, FL where she attended the club gym Tamba Bay Turners Gymnastics. Her team and coaches at home created a video for Hilton showing their support and wishing her the best as she goes through this hard time. Watch the video below:

After her second round of chemo, Hilton posted this update on her page:

Hey everyone!
I have been doing well. After my second cycle of chemo I experienced some vomiting. Due to the vomiting, I have lost a lot of weight. Therefor I now have a feeding tube. I will possibly have it until I am finished with treatment. I am preparing for my third round of chemo that starts Monday. I will be in Orlando for about a week. Then after that I just have to finish my last and final round of chemo! I am on the road to recovery because of you all! The support has been amazing. I want to thank all my family, friends, church family and even individuals I do not know for the continuous support during my battle with cancer. Having so many people thinking and praying about me has been a blessing. This blessing helps me with my fight to the end. I can’t wait to be done and back to the life I had!
Attached is a video of some girls, coaches, and the owners of Tampa Bay Turners (Brad & Colleen) that are so dear to my heart. This video meant the world to me, so I thought I would share it with you all!

After the first round, she wrote this update:
"Hey everyone,
I had experienced my first round of chemo the beginning of June. It went well, but I did have some side effects. However, with the great doctors I have, they were able to help subside the side effects. I have been getting a lot of rest for my next cycle of chemo which starts the beginning of July. Thanks to everyone for continuous support I have received along this journey. I am so blessed to have such an amazing support system."
