Miles Avery Advances On American Ninja Warrior

Miles Avery is a legend in the world of gymnastics and is now trying to making history on American Ninja Warrior. At age 56, he is one of the oldest contestants to ever appear on the NBC show. He performed his run in the Pittsburgh qualifier Monday night, conquering one obstacle after another until the final one—the warped wall. He attempted to scale it three times, but was unable to complete the course. However, Avery’s run was still strong enough to qualify him to the city finals, which will air July 13.

Avery owns OSEGA Gymnastics and is a 4-time coach for the U.S. men’s Olympic gymnastics team. He was also a coach at The Ohio State University where he led the men’s team to five Big Ten championships and one NCAA title as head coach.
