defended her title this weekend at the Canadian National Championships. This is her third straight senior all-around title. She scored a 57.95, bolstered by her 14.8 on vault and 14.8 on beam. Isabela Onyshko placed second with a 57.55 and Rose-Kaying Woo placed third with a 55.0.

Black placed first on beam, second on bars and floor, and third on vault. Onyshko won the bars and floor title and Shallon Olsen posted the high on vault.

“Ellie rose to the occasion today when it was really important and I’m hoping we’re going to see that again in the major upcoming events,” said national women’s team director Dave Brubaker in a Gymnastics Canada press release.

For the juniors, Megan Roberts won the all-around title with 55.4. Jade Chrobok won the silver with 55.25 and Meixi Semple took the bronze with a score of 52.8.

The next competition for Canada will be the Pan American Games, which will be held in Toronto, Ontario, with the artistic competition running from July 11-15. Both the Canadian men’s and women’s Pan Am teams will be announced later this week.
