Upcoming International Elite Competitions in Women's Gymnastics

In the months leading up to the World Championships, there are a number of international competitions approved by the FIG that elites will compete at in women’s artistic gymnastics. The US team are only scheduled to participate in the Pan American Games, however there are several other competitions worth keeping in mind that other top federations will compete in. Below we’ve provided a summary of some of these upcoming meets, up until (and including) the Pan Am Games. Following the Pan Am Games, we’ve provided a list of competitions that will take place up until Worlds.
Flanders International Team Challenge
Where: Ghent, Belgium
When: May 30-31, 2015
Qualifications Format: 1 day of qualification, 6-5-4 format (6 gymnasts in the team, 5 gymnasts perform, 4 scores count). Individual gymnasts may compete in a mixed group. The first 6/8 countries (6 countries if there are 8-10 registered countries; 8 countries if there are 11 or more registered countries) in the ranking will qualify for the final. The points in the junior & senior teams will be considered in one global ranking.
Finals Format: 10 gymnasts max in the team, 4 gymnasts perform (2 juniors, 2 seniors), 4 scores count. If a country only sends one team, all 4 gymnasts can be from the same age group.

Games of the Small States of Europe
Where: Reykjavik, Iceland
When: June 1-6, 2015
Format: All-around and team finals will serve as qualification for apparatus finals. A team may consist of juniors and seniors, with a 5-4-3 format (5 gymnasts on a team, 4 gymnasts compete, 3 scores count). For apparatus finals qualification, the 8 highest ranked gymnasts on each apparatus will qualify, with a 2 per country rule.

Competencia Internacional Juvenil
Where: Cuernavaca, Mexico
When: June 2-4, 2015
Format: All-around, team and apparatus finals. The team competition is 4 compete, 3 scores count

SEA Games
Where: Singapore
When: June 5-16, 2015
Format: Team will consist of 4-6 gymnasts, 5 gymnasts compete and 4 scores count - this competition will also serve as qualifications, so there will be mixed groups of individuals as well. The top 24 gymnasts from this competition will compete in the all-around, with a 2 per country rule. The top 8 gymnasts on each apparatus from qualification will compete in event finals, with the 2 per country rule.

Format: For qualifications, a max of 3 gymnasts per country is allowed. Apparatus finals are top 8 gymnasts who qualify, with a 2 per country rule.

1st European Games
Where: Baku, Azerbaijan
When: June 13-20, 2015
Format: 3 gymnasts per federation compete, 2 scores count for the team competition. The results of the team competition serve as qualification for the all-around and apparatus finals. The top 18 gymnasts will compete in the all-around final, with 1 gymnast per federation allowed to compete. The top 6 gymnasts will compete on each event in apparatus finals, with again 1 gymnast per federation.
