The first day of competition at the 2015 NCAA Championships has concluded and the field is set for tomorrow’s Super Six team finals. From session two, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Auburn advanced. These teams will join Florida, Utah, and Stanford who advanced from session one. 

LSU was having a great competition until the third rotation where they had two falls and a third low score to post a 48.275. Auburn took that opportunity and nailed floor and vault to move ahead and take the third qualifying spot. 
 
In rotation one, LSU came out blazing on vault where they earned a 49.375. Their entire lineup had great height and power on their vaults and the highlight came with Ashleigh Gnat sticking a double twisting Yurchenko. Auburn was on bars where they had a solid start and nothing lower than a 9.825 to total a 49.25. Nebraska was on beam where they were a little shaky but didn’t have any falls and scored a 48.875. Alabama was on floor where they really played to their fans with energetic routines and some big tumbling. They earned three 9.9s from Lauren Beers, Carley Sims, and Mackenzie Brannan
 
Bama moved to vault where they had a few sticks and earned a big 49.475. Oregon State began their night on bars with a solid rotation lead by Erika Aufiero who scored a 9.9. Auburn moved to beam where they scored a 49.275 bolstered by a 9.95 from anchor Caitlin Atkinson. Oklahoma started their night on floor with a 49.475. The Sooners dropped Ali Jackson’s 9.75 after she stepped out of bounds but the rest of the lineup was on point. Haley Scaman anchored and earned a 9.95.
 
Oklahoma continued their momentum to their second event where they nailed their vaults for a big 49.55 total. Ali Jackson and Scaman both earned 9.95s, Jackson for a Yurchenko 1 1/2 and Scaman for a stuck Yurchenko full. LSU was on bars where they were sharp, hitting six for six. Rheagan Courville anchored with a gorgeous routine and a stuck dismount for a 9.925. Oregon State had a rough beam rotation where they were a bit shaky but didn’t have to count a fall. They totaled a 48.875 highlighted by Madeline Gardiner’s 9.9. Nebraska nailed floor with fun choreography and big tumbling for a 49.425. They didn’t count anything lower than a 9.85 and Hollie Blanske anchored for a 9.925. Halfway through, Oklahoma lead with an impressive 99.025. 
 
In rotation four, Nebraska moved to vault where they had a solid rotation lead by Jessie Deziel’s stuck Yurchenko full for a 9.9. Alabama had a great bars rotation and earned a 49.275 lead by Katie Bailey’s 9.9. Auburn was on floor where MJ Rott had a fall but the rest of lineup hit and they totaled a 49.325. 
 
LSU ran into trouble on beam when first up Lloimincia Hall had a couple wobbles and scored a 9.3. Freshmen Erin Macadaeg followed and slipped on her series, falling off and scoring a 9.25. Sydney Ewing hit her set but Ashleigh Gnat followed and had a fall on her series as well. Rheagan Courville and Jessie Jordan finished strong for the Tigers but they only scored a 48.275.
 
In rotation five, Auburn moved to vault where they finished a stellar competition with a 49.225. They were solid all-around but didn’t post a score over a 9.9, however, it was enough to earn a 197.075. Oklahoma was on bars where they scored a 49.5  lead by Brenna Dowell and McKenzie Wofford who both scored 9.95s. Alabama moved to beam, their final event, where they had a few errors but pulled through scoring a 48.95. The totaled a 197.1 to move 0.025 ahead of Auburn. Oregon State was on floor where they had a fall but where able to drop it to finish with a 48.775.
 
In the final rotation, Oregon State finished up on vault with a solid 49. Nebraska needed to be perfect on bars to pass Auburn and they put up a great fight but only finished with a 49.175 to score a 196.675. Oklahoma finished on beam where they ran into some trouble in the front of the lineup. Haley Sorenson and Kara Lovan fell back to back but the final three gymnasts nailed their routines, all scoring 9.9s. They finished with a 197.4, the highest score from this session. LSU finished on floor with a big 49.475 but it wasn’t enough to put them in the top three. Their final team score was a 196.55.
