Co-champion of the 2014 Swiss Cup and rising international star, Daria Spiridonova was born on July 8, 1998, in Novocheboksarsksk, Russia. With beautiful lines and clean execution, Spiridonova has quickly become known for her performance on the uneven bars.

Budding International Elite Career

Only on the international scene for two years, Spiridonova made her international debut with a bang by winning an all-around gold medal at the 2012 Pre-Olympic Youth Cup in Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany.  She continued her success in 2013 by winning team gold and an individual silver on uneven bars at the Russian Junior Championships. She went on to compete at the KSI Cup, winning team and all-around gold medals.

Successful Senior Season Debut

The 2014 Cottbus World Cup provided Spiridonova’s senior debut, however she did not qualify for event finals. Not letting the loss deter her, she then went on to compete at the Russian Championships, winning gold on bars, silver on beam, fifth in the all-around and seventh on floor.

At the 2014 Women's Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Nanning, China, Spiridonova took bronze on the uneven bars in her first World's competition. Just weeks later, Spiridonova placed first on bars at both the Arthur Gander Memorial and the Swiss Cup.
