It’s no secret that China has consistently developed elite-caliber athletes over the years. Not only do these gymnasts carry the dreams of their country on their shoulders, but also strive to meet and exceed the expectations they put on themselves. Xie Yufen is the alternate member of the 2014 Chinese World Championship team, and will be competing for the first time as such. She will represent her country alongside Yao Jinnan, Shang Chungson, Huang Huidan, Tan Jiaxin, Chen Siyi, and Bai Yawen.
