China Proves Dominant in Team and All-Around at 2014 Asian Games

As the women’s team and all-around competitions have concluded at the 2014 Asian Games, China is proving its dominance.
In the team final, the Chinese national team grabbed the gold medal after performing twenty consistent routines across the board. China won each event in the final, and put up a huge total score of 229.300. Placing second, DPR Korea scored a 214.650, while Japan earned the bronze medal with a 214.350.
A large portion of China’s success in the team final can be attributed to Yao Jinnan, the recent all-around champion of the competition. She competed every event for the team final, and put up huge scores- Vault: 14.450, Bars: 15.650, Beam: 14.250, Floor: 13.800. Jinnan is a veteran to international competition, and already has an impressive medal count from events across the globe. Her repertoire includes a pair of all-around gold medals at the Chinese National Championships in 2013 and 2014, a first place team finish at the Stuttgart World Cup, and appearances at the 2012 Olympic Games and two previous World Championships in 2011 and 2013. She has continually shown her grace and confidence in pressure situations, so it is no surprise that she is the new reigning all-around champion of the Asian Games.
