Field Set for All Event Finals in Glasgow
On the second day of qualifications for the Commonwealth Games, the field is now set on all apparatuses for event finals.

On the women’s balance beam, top all-around finisher Claudia Fragapane (ENG) claimed the top qualifying spot with a 14.033, followed by Lauren Mitchell (AUS) and Ellie Black (CAN), who tied with a 13.966. Georgina Hockenhull (WAL) qualified in fourth, Rebecca Downie (ENG) came in fifth, Lizzie Beddoe (WAL) took sixth, Isabela Onyshko (CAN) was seventh, and the final qualifying spot went to Mary-Anne Monckton (AUS).

Fragapane also led decisively on floor, where her score of 14.733 set her apart from Mitchell, the second-place qualifier, by a margin of 0.633. Hannah Whelan (ENG) qualified in third place with a 13.700, followed by Canadians Stefanie Merkle and Black in fourth and fifth. Ruby Harrold (ENG) had the sixth highest score on the event but fell prey to the two-per-country rule and will not be competing in the finals. However, Charlotte Sullivan (NZL), Jessica Hogg (WAL), and Kirsten Beckett (RSA) will round out the field on this event.

In the men’s vault competition, Kristian Thomas (ENG) scored an average of 14.716 to claim the top qualifying spot in the finals. Following him were Scott Morgan (CAN) with a 14.599 and Frank Baines (SCO) with a 14.333. Singaporean gymnasts Wah Toon Hoe and Aizat Bin Muhammad Jufrie took the fourth and fifth qualifying slot, with teammate Wei An Terry Tay coming in sixth but sitting out of the finals. This left room for Adam Cox (SCO), Kent Pieterse (AUS), and Ashish Kumar (IND) in the last three qualifying positions.
