Gabby Douglas Training at Buckeye

Update 8/7:
Gabby Douglas has spoken out about training at Buckeye and leaving Chow again.
"I wasn't looking to leave Iowa, but I was placed in a position where I had to make a decision to find another coach," Douglas said in an interview with AP. "Even though I have had to make that change, I'm committed to working hard to be a part of the 2016 Rio Olympic Team."
She also referred to speaking with Martha Karolyi about her training plans. Karolyi had expressed being pleased with Douglas' fitness and skill levels at the June National Team Training Camp.
"Martha and I discussed the need for me to focus on my current training plans and to continue the consistent momentum I have been building," she said. "I am looking forward to competing again soon for Team USA."
In an interview with USA Today, Karolyi spoke about stability and building relationships between coaches and athletes.
"Time will tell," Karolyi, coordinator of the women's national team, said Friday when asked about the move. "I'm not crazy about lots of changes. I like stability and I know from my times when I was directing coaching gymnasts, I liked to develop a relationship with my gymnast.
"It takes time to develop those kinds of relationships," Karolyi added. "I really hope -- she is very talented and I was surprised at how well she came back after a big break. Physically, she was very fit."
Douglas is now training at Buckeye in Ohio with coach Kittia Carpenter and junior international elite Nia Dennis. In the AP interview, Douglas said she is training harder than ever and complimented Buckeye and their program.
"They have a strong elite competitive program and I am very honored to pursue my journey to Rio with them," Douglas said.
Buckeye coach Carpenter also commented on Gabby's move and decision to push her competitive comback to 2015.
"She wants to come back looking as strong as she left and she didn't feel she's quite there yet," Carpenter said.
