As the Commonwealth Games draw ever closer, Singapore has joined in the news by announcing both their men’s and women’s teams (along with a three-gymnast rhythmic gymnastics squad). This is the first time that Singapore has sent gymnasts from all three disciplines together to the Commonwealth Games, and it is also the first time that the country has sent three full teams. 

 

The men’s roster includes Aizat bin Muhammad Jufrie, Tay Wei-An Terry, Gan Zi Jie Gabriel, Timothy Tay Kai Cheng, and Hoe Wah Toon. On the women’s side, Lim Heem Wei is the only returning member of the 2010 squad that placed sixth in the team competition. Wei, who claimed silver on balance beam in 2010, will be joined by Michelle Teo Yin Zhi, Ashly Lau Wei-Ning, Janessa Dai Min Yi, and Tam Jing Ying Joey.
